ISO-NE is governed by an independent, board of directors with expertise in financial markets, law, and electric power operations and regulation. Members have no financial interest in any company doing business in New England's electricity markets.

David J. Vitale David J. Vitale was named chairman of the ISO New England Board in 2010 after serving as vice chairman since 2006. Mr. Vitale currently serves as executive chairman of Urban Partnership Bank. He previously served pro bono as chief administrative officer of the Chicago Public School System (2002-2007), president and chief executive officer of the Chicago Board of Trade (2000-2002), and vice chairman and director of Bank One Corp., culminating a 31-year career in banking. Mr. Vitale is a director of several companies, including United Airlines and Ariel Investments, and several not-for-profit organizations, including The Academy for Urban School Leadership (chairman) and The Art Institute of Chicago (vice chairman). |

Roberta S. Brown Roberta S. Brown's electricity industry career spans three decades. Ms. Brown is the President of Sassafras River Associates, LLC, an energy consulting and investment firm. In 2005, Ms. Brown spearheaded the effort to form a new single regional reliability entity, ReliabilityFirst, from three previously separate reliability councils. Prior to this, Ms. Brown spent 24 years with Pepco Holdings, Inc. subsidiaries Delmarva Power, Pepco, and Conectiv, Inc., ultimately serving as Vice President, Transmission. She currently serves as Board Chair of the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Peninsula. |

Raymond Hill Raymond Hill joined the ISO New England Board in 2010. Mr. Hill has taught Economics and Finance at the Emory University Goizueta Business School since 2003. Before joining the Emory faculty, Mr. Hill was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Mirant Corporation and its predecessor company, Southern Energy International. Previously, he was a Managing Director at Lehman Brothers, where he was responsible for the investment banking practice in Asia outside of Japan. Mr. Hill holds a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a bachelor of arts degree from Princeton University. |

Kathryn J. Jackson Kathryn J. Jackson, Ph.D., is Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Westinghouse Electric Company. Before being named to that position in early 2009, she served as Vice President of Strategy, Research, and Technology. Ms. Jackson previously spent 17 years at the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), where she held various executive positions, including Vice President, Technology Advancements; Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President, respectively, in its Resource Group; and most recently as Executive Vice President, River System Operations and Environment. Prior to joining TVA, she worked for Alcoa and began her career at Westinghouse. Dr. Jackson currently serves on the advisory committees of the Sloan Foundation's Electricity Industry Center and Carnegie Mellon University's Institute for Complex Engineered Systems. |

Paul F. Levy Paul F. Levy was President and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts from 2002 to 2011. Previously, he served as Executive Dean of Administration at Harvard Medical School, Executive Director of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, Commissioner and Chairman of the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities, Director of the Arkansas Department of Energy, and Deputy Director of the Massachusetts Energy Policy Office. Mr. Levy has been a visiting lecturer and adjunct professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and has consulted in the areas of energy, water, telecommunications, and business negotiation. He has written numerous articles in a variety of fields and co-authored the book, Negotiating Environmental Agreements. Mr. Levy graduated from MIT with a masters' degree in city planning and bachelor of science degrees in economics and in urban studies and planning. |

Louise McCarren Louise McCarren has held numerous positions in the energy and communications industries. From 2004 through 2010, she served as chief executive officer of the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), one of eight regional reliability councils. From 1993 to 2003 she worked for Verizon, Inc. where she held several positions including managing director of State Regulatory Planning and president, Verizon Vermont. From 1989 to 1991 she was a partner at Sheehey Brue Gray and Furlong in Burlington, Vermont, where she specialized in public utility law. She was chair of the Vermont Public Service Board from 1981 to 1987. Ms McCarren obtained her Juris Doctor from University of California, Los Angeles, after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley, with a bachelor of arts degree in agricultural economics. |

Philip Shapiro Philip Shapiro joined the ISO New England Board in 2010. Mr. Shapiro has been Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer of Babson College since 2005. Before this, he was a Managing Director of Standard and Poor's Rating Group, where he established and supervised their offices in Boston, Chicago, and Dallas. In addition, he was the CFO of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority, a Director of Investor Relations for the Bank of New England, and a former Deputy Director of the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Council. He was an Assistant to former Maine Governor James B. Longley. Mr. Shapiro is a graduate of Amherst College and holds masters' degrees in Education from the University of Maine and Business Administration from Boston College. He is a Selectman in Westwood, Massachusetts. |

Gordon van Welie Gordon van Welie is president and chief executive officer of ISO New England Inc., having previously served as the company's executive vice president and chief operating officer. He joined ISO New England from Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution LLC, where he served as vice president and general manager of the Power Systems Control Division and was responsible for managing information technology solutions for electric companies. Before coming to Siemens, Mr. van Welie held several positions at ESKOM, South Africa's electric utility based in Johannesburg. |

Vickie VanZandt Vickie VanZandt runs VanZandt Electric Transmission Consulting, Inc., based in Washington State, and is also the Western Electricity Coordinating Council's Program Manager for the Western Interconnection Synchrophasor Program. In 2009, she retired from Bonneville Power Administration after 35 years of service. As Bonneville's Senior Vice President of Transmission Services, Ms. VanZandt was responsible for planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, marketing, and management of the 15,000 circuit mile, high voltage transmission system covering four states in the Pacific Northwest. She served as Bonneville Power's Chief Engineer for a decade, holds a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, and is a senior member of the IEEE. |

Christopher Wilson Christopher Wilson has three decades of experience in the financial sector. He began his career at Fidelity Investments, working in a number of operational roles. He then spent 10 years at Scudder, Stevens & Clark, developing its marketing and sales organizations, as well as its support structure. He was Principal there from 1992 to 1997. After Scudder, he joined CDC IXIS Asset Management Services, Inc., becoming President and CEO in 1998. From there, Mr. Wilson became President of Columbia Funds at the Bank of America, where he was responsible for the entire operational nondistribution segment of the mutual fund business. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Lake Forest College and is currently a private investor working with start-up firms. |
